Director of Sales (full-time)

Location: Davis, CA

 

Barobo is seeking a Director of Sales who has a passion for transforming K-12 STEM education and improving the lives and career opportunities for students of all abilities. This person will be responsible for the direction and management of Barobo’s sales operations. He/she will drive achievement of Barobo’s customer acquisition and revenue goals. This executive will need to actively lead the business development function in an effective, aggressive manner.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop, establish, direct, and execute sales strategies

  • Develop and manage strategic partnerships and relationships in the K-12 education market nationwide

  • Take primary responsibility for expanding Barobo's sales and customer base

  • Build and manage a sales team

  • Lead Barobo’s sales effort for the new California Mathematics Framework

  • Target new/existing customer base to drive new product sales, aligned to marketing and regional sales strategies

  • Cultivate new relationships, educate prospects, and ultimately drive new sales to exceed revenue targets

  • Conduct webinars, sales presentations, and perform calls and emails necessary to develop a strong relationship with prospects

  • Follow sales cycle from inception to close and implementation

  • Create an ongoing plan for prioritization of customer calls, emails and scheduled appointments to drive sales pipeline advancement, accurate forecasting and quota achievement

  • Effectively maintain and grow knowledge of accounts, Barobo offerings, and key trends in education to develop credibility among customers and internal colleagues

  • Collect and analyze information and prepare data and sales reports

  • Attend industry events and conferences to build relationships and promote the company

  • Perform other related duties as assigned in a team environment

 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Business acumen with demonstrated success in the above responsibilities

  • Significant experience in the K-12 education market with school districts

  • At least 5 years experience in a sales role with demonstrated success

  • At least 3 years of experience in a sales managerial role and in building an effective sales team and sales channel

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Marketing, Sales, Business, or a related field; Master’s degree a plus

  • A self-starter who is comfortable taking initiative and can run with ideas and projects

  • Excited to be in an entrepreneurial role and make a real impact on the growth of the business with a huge societal impact

  • Extensive travelling may be required

  • Must possess US work authorization

Salary and Benefits

  • Barobo offers a competitive package including base salary plus commissions, 401(k) with company match, and health, dental, and vision insurance

  • Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The base salary range for this full-time position is $90,000 to $120,000. With commissions, the anticipated OTE is $130,000-$180,000. An individual’s base salary is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training

Senior Software Engineer for Web Applications (full-time)

Location: Remote or hybrid

​

Barobo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Web Applications who has a passion for technology and education. This person will be responsible for taking the lead in web application design and development for Barobo’s web-based integrated learning environment.

This is a full-time position that may be either remote or hybrid (if the latter, based at Barobo’s headquarters in Davis, CA).

Responsibilities

  • Build, refine, and maintain the back-end wiring, application logic, and user interface for our flagship product, RoboBlocky (www.roboblocky.com)

  • Drive the development process, including design, coding, documenting, testing, debugging, and tuning

  • Collaborate with the product management team to translate business requirements into technical solutions

  • Utilize a variety of programming languages, web development tools, database technologies, cloud services, and networking and security tools

  • Assist in monitoring and optimizing real-time product performance

  • Respond in a timely manner to fix bugs that have been identified, whether from internal or external sources

  • Identify technical problems and develop solutions, including for cybersecurity

  • Help to develop new standardized processes around Barobo’s technical implementations

  • Propose and develop architecture changes that will allow us to consolidate, simplify, and optimize our technology

  • Develop processes for software deployment and release

  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends

  • Work in a fast-paced, agile environment to ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions

Qualifications and Requirements 

  • Passion for improving education through technology

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field

  • 5+ years experience in full stack software design and development

  • A solid grasp of general programming principles

  • Demonstrated excellence in delivering end-to-end web solutions using high-level skills in front-end, back-end, and cloud technologies

  • Significant working experience and skills with PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, MySQL, PostgreSQL, nginx, and Linux, as well as front-end technologies (e.g., React, Vue, Node.js) and back-end technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Firebase)

  • Strong programming skills in Python and either C/C++ (preferred) or Java

  • Skill at troubleshooting problems across the stack, providing both immediate fixes as well as long term solutions

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity issues and experience in implementing security best practices

  • Strong communication and time management skills

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Must possess US work authorization

Production Coordinator (full-time)

Location: Davis, CA

​

Barobo is seeking a Production Coordinator to oversee daily operational and production activities including robot production, quality control, supply chain and component sourcing, packaging, inventory management, order fulfillment and shipping, and related accounting. The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical, industrial, and/or electrical engineering, and familiarity with related software to contribute to product development and troubleshooting efforts. 

​

Responsibilities

  • Oversee production of all Barobo products and order fulfillment through CRM and accounting systems 

  • Work with the supervisor to develop and maintain an effective supply chain management system, tracking stock levels, and addressing supply shortages

  • Manage the quality control process, identifying and resolving production defects or inefficiencies

  • Collaborate on mechanical design aspects of the production process, providing input on design modifications and improvements

  • Manage RMA (return merchandise authorization)

  • Guide and communicate with line employees and interns professionally and competently

  • Provide training and development to new and existing employees and interns to cultivate high performing teams

  • Analyze operational data and processes to maximize efficiency

  • Ensure that all safety related concerns are communicated and addressed

  • Keep production area clean and organized at all times

  • Work with sales and management team to plan production schedule using sales forecasts

  • Help grow and scale-up operations and production capacity

  • Perform other related duties as assigned in a start-up environment​

Video Editing Intern (part-time, paid)

Location: Davis, CA

​

Barobo is seeking an intern for a Video Editing internship. The intern will assist in the process of curriculum development and professional development by editing and captioning video files. This is a paid internship for 5-15 hours per week.

 

Qualifications:

  • Major in communications, digital media, film production, or related field

  • Experience with video editing

  • Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro

  • Interest in K-12 STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) education

  • Excellent written communication skills

  • High degree of organization and self-motivation 

  • Eligible to work in the US as a US citizen
